From the second Bryan walked into that plane lavatory and locked the door, I knew I wanted him more than anything and I’ve never felt that way about anyone.

That’s why I didn’t show up for that first date. I was worried my expectations were too high and he’d end up being just like every other guy who tried to get in my pants. If that had turned out to be true, it would have broken my heart and I wasn’t going to take that chance.

Now, waking up in his arms, I know that this is meant to be. He isn’t going anywhere. He wants to be with me just as much as I want to be with him and that has me floating on air.

He takes me to my place so I can shower and change then drives me to the office. The elevator stops on our floor and a man is waiting near my desk. I’ve never seen him before and Bryan sighs when he notices him.

“Shit, I forgot I had a meeting,” he mumbles, steps away from me, and holds his hand out to the man.

“Jack, I’m so sorry. My secretary had some car trouble this morning, and I was helping her out. I hope you haven’t been waiting long…”

They walk into Bryan’s office together, and I click on my computer. I print a copy of Bryan’s calendar so this doesn’t happen again then check my email. I’m still sorting through my inbox when Bryan and his client return. Bryan walks the man to the elevator and shakes his hand as he leaves.

“Hey, what do you want to do tonight?”

“Well, I was just going to talk to you about that. I have an email from HR that says I have to go to a new hire training on the NYU campus tonight at seven. Says here that you’re going to compensate me for my time and transportation and that food will be provided.” I look up at him and smile.

“You don’t have to go to that. I’ll excuse you.”

“Can I go?”

“You mean you want to go? I can assure you, it’s going to be very boring.”

“Maybe, but I’ve never seen a campus as big as NYU or gone to a work training before. I know you think it’s silly but I want to do it, so can I? I can come to your place when it ends if that’s okay.”

“Hey, if you want to experience something that dull, who am I to stop you? You just make sure that you come straight to my place after. Now that I’ve had a taste of you, I need more.”

“Thank you for understanding. I’m really excited about this!”

“You’re adorable.” He pinches my cheek and starts back to his office. “Things have been relatively quiet since you got here but that’s about to change…”

“I know, boss. I just printed out your calendar.” I grin.

“Good girl. As you can see, I’m going to be tied up all day so I’ll be skipping lunch.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a credit card.
